     Meru national park also referred to as Complete Wilderness is located 350km from Nairobi, Covering an area of 870km². It was once the most famous park in Kenya, home to George Adamson and Elsa the lioness that made the award winning movie and novel “Born Free” which put Kenya on the international spot light, happened in this less visited wilderness called Kora national Park bordered by Meru national park. This is a captivating real life story to be read.
     A visit to Kora, Adamson’s base camp and Elsa’s grave would give you a realistic picture of how lions are unique with individual personalities and have a different side to them besides what we have known them as “stealth hunting machines” or “Ghost in the darkness”.
     The Complete wilderness is Famous for the Reticulated Giraffe, Gravy Zebra, Greater Kudu, Elephants, Lions and Rhino.

Meru National Park can be Accessed by Road and Air:-

* Road from Nairobi, via Nyeri-Nanyuki-Meru or via Embu all weather roads. Access into the park from Maua to Murera Gate (35 km) and 350 km from Nairobi.

* Air : Main airstrip at Kina, Mulika next to Meru Mulika Lodge and Elsa's Kopje airstrip
